Helping the Community

In addition to financial support for charities, we also support local events by donating our time and experience or loaning equipment. Many events, particularly those of a charity nature wouldn’t be able to go ahead without this kind of event support. For the last two years, we have helped organise and set up We Shine Portsmouth, a completely free art and lights festival run by a local arts and culture CIC called Portsmouth Creates, to try and give something positive for the people of Portsmouth to engage with as we approach winter, as well as support the creatives and artists that are involved.

“Once again, we’re lucky to be supported by the team behind Victorious Festival to help make this new Winter staple event go from strength to strength”

Billie Roe, Event Organiser, We Shine – Portsmouth Creates

“The team from Victorious have helped us reduce our events costs by loaning us use of crowd barriers for our annual Moonlit Memories Walk and our Summer Fete, both held on Castle Fields in Southsea. This means that we can use more of the money raised from these events to provide specialist hospice care. We are very grateful to Victorious for all their support.”

Craig Willcock, Fundraising & Events Manager, Rowans Hospice

Furthermore, we play a very important role in the local economy. Portsmouth has benefited from a significant yearly economic impact from Victorious since 2014.

This year alone the economic impact was an incredible £19,407,726. From busy shops, restaurants & cafes, to fully-booked hotels – the festival weekend creates a lot of opportunities for lots of different people and businesses. Victorious also helps to improve tourism by changing people’s perceptions of it. Over a third of Victorious festival-goers said they had a more positive view of Portsmouth and would be more likely to visit the city again in the future.
